Having been in business variety of years, I’m amazed at the amount of individuals who do not have the slightest idea of what customer service is. Customer service isn’t how of doing things – it’s an attitude.

I always like it when company’s send their people to seminars to find out about customer service. All the seminars will discuss the customer’s needs and expectations and therefore the orator will package these ideas as new and leading edge when actually these very ideas were in practice over 30 years ago!

3.) Use a correct salutation when lecture a customer unless permission is given otherwise, i.e.: Mrs., Mr., Ms., Sir, etc.

4.) hear their concerns. nobody likes to be ignored. Everyone wants to understand that not only are they being heard but that they are being understood also .

5.) Repeat back to the customer what it’s you heard them say.

6.) Be genuine. a scarcity of sincerity comes across easier than you think that .

7.) look after your customer. If you think that your customer needs you, you will not be in business long. this suggests what it says – too repeatedly i have been in meetings where this was paid hypocrisy and its importance downplayed.

8.) Put yourself in your customers shoes – What are their concerns? Are they legitimate concerns? does one have an idea to help them?

9.) Customers are looking to you to assist them put to rest any fears, doubts, or apprehension they’ll have regarding a recommended repair, service, etc., does one posses the knowledge or skill to help them?
