Key Traits Every Entrepreneur Should Know


Start your own business, and shortly enough, you discover yourself during a situation
where there are many belongings you want to mention , all of them unprintable.

It happens to each entrepreneur – a flash of utmost challenge that causes
you to wonder why you started the (expletive) business within the first place. I’ve
had my share of these moments since starting our PR firm in
March 2002.

But while trading notes with a fellow entrepreneur recently, I began to think
about all the moments of utmost challenge I left behind once I decided I no
longer wanted to be somebody else’s employee.

That got me brooding about what really matters to me as an entrepreneur. As I
shared my thoughts with my friend, a replacement list developed – the “F” words I
believe every entrepreneur should know. They’ve done the work on behalf of me thus far ,
keeping me rooted, married and lecture my kids while we build a successful
business. I hope they need an equivalent effect for you.

1. Faith: I’m not a corner preacher, but I even have a deep and abiding faith
that starting my business is what i used to be meant to try to to in life. I even have a robust
faith that i have been given the tools to try to to the work – even during a moment of utmost
challenge. Without faith in yourself, in your business and in your purpose, how
can you succeed as an entrepreneur?

2. Family: My wife and daughters are the foremost important people in my life.
Starting my business has enabled me to place them at the middle of my life,
where they belong. Oh yes, I work long and hard, but today, it’s with a transparent
purpose. The generations of entrepreneurs who built this country understood
this principle. Their businesses often bore the surname , and generations of
people who were born, lived and died together managed to create great
businesses together.

3. Friends: Fortune 500 companies have boards of directors. Entrepreneurs
have friends. When nobody else will listen, friends will. When others fail to ascertain
the beauty of the merchandise or solution, friends will. And when nobody else will
talk straight to you a few dumb business move, friends will. and that they won’t
send you a bill.

4. Focus: It’s nice to mention you’re an entrepreneur, that you simply are your own boss.
But does one have the commitment to show that concept into true success? The
ultimate measure is your ability not only to line a goal, but persist with it, despite
those moments of utmost challenge. you’ll need to jibe along
the way, but sort of a good sailor, you focus, keeping your business pointed to the
right shore.

5. Finances: Let’s face it – most folks strike out as entrepreneurs because we
believe we will improve our financial situation. i do know I even have not missed the
constraining limits and minuscule salary increases of corporate America. How
much do i would like to form this year? there’s just one answer: How hard am I
willing to work? And there’s just one reason to ask that question: to form
good on my commitment to all or any the “F” words that rank before money on my

6. Freedom: this might be the best gift of entrepreneurship. But it’s the one
that comes only after you’ll act on all the opposite “F” words in your
entrepreneurial vocabulary. numerous entrepreneurs strike bent find success,
which they define as freedom from all the items they hated about working for
someone else. Unfortunately for these folks, they lack a real entrepreneurial
vision – they’re merely deed from something. True entrepreneurial
freedom comes from a vision that encompasses what’s really important to you.

Are these the sole “F” words an entrepreneur must know? Obviously not.
But in moments of utmost challenge, remembering these “F” words may help
you weather a flash of utmost challenge without resorting to the
unprintable variety. And if you are like me, they’ll also assist you remember
why you started the business within the first place.
